Your Next Sales Follow-Up Could Use a Little Crunch

Put some personality into your next sales touchpoint. Pair a custom fortune cookie with a relevant message, a useful destination and a clear follow-up plan.

By Custom Fortunes ·

Picture a prospect’s desk after a busy week. Meeting notes. A conference badge. A long list of messages to get back to. Your follow-up has to earn its place in that day.

Here is a different opening: a fortune cookie connected to the idea you discussed together. A small surprise, a line that makes them smile and a useful next step on the back. Give the physical moment a purpose, and your sales team has something more personal to build on.

Give the cookie a reason to arrive

Choose contacts with a shared, relevant context. They might have requested a demonstration, joined an ideas workshop or asked for help comparing options. Let that conversation guide the message and the resource you share.

For an office delivery, coordinate the destination and receiving arrangements with your contact. For a planning session or client event, offer the cookies during the meeting itself. Choose the format that fits the relationship and the moment.

Put the conversation into the creative

Write a fortune that brings back the theme you discussed: a clearer plan, a fresh idea or a project ready for its next step. Add your branding and an invitation that helps them explore that idea.

A short accompanying note can connect the dots. Let the slip do what a slip does well: deliver one line with a little personality.

  • Your next good idea deserves a little momentum.
  • A clear next step can change the whole journey.
  • The best things are built together.

Give curiosity somewhere to go

The QR destination should carry the conversation forward. Offer the demonstration, comparison worksheet, recap or planning resource that fits the prospect’s question. A clear label on the slip tells them why the page is worth opening.

Then make the page easy to use on a phone. Explain what they will receive and how to request a conversation. Have the person responsible for replying review the experience before the artwork is approved.

A cookie can open the door. The useful page and the thoughtful response keep the conversation moving.

Close the follow-up loop

Give the sales team a shared plan: who receives the campaign, why they were selected, what the link promises and who owns the response. Put that context in your CRM so a reply reaches someone ready to help.

Track distribution, destination visits, requested resources, qualified meetings and resulting orders. Include the costs of cookies, delivery, preparation and follow-up when you review the effort.

Look at what happened between each step. A good creative idea gets more useful when you can see which audience engaged, what they asked for and how the sales conversation progressed.

Your campaign checklist

  1. Identify a relevant audience and shared conversation.
  2. Choose a fortune and a resource that fit that context.
  3. Confirm the destination and delivery arrangements.
  4. Assign an owner to handle replies and next steps.
  5. Review qualified meetings, orders and campaign costs.
